Kathakali Dance

Kathakali dance brings drama, mythology to life through rhythm, dance, mudras (gestures) make-up and costumes. Beginning in the 17th century in Southern India, it is still practiced today in all night long productions. Above is the Swan character in the process of dressing. Below see him in full costume.
